Portland summer is all about fresh berries, so today we're shaking up a summer cocktail that celebrates our favorite summer seasonal fruit—blueberries. Pick up a pint of local blueberries from your favorite U-Pick farm, and you're well on your way to making this refreshing sipper.
We're building from classic bramble specs for this one. The bramble is a classic-style cocktail created by Dick Bradsell in 1980s London, England, just as the craft cocktail scene was gaining momentum. It combines dry style gin with lemon juice, sugar, fresh berries and in Bradsell's recipe, blackberry liqueur.
For our twist, we're swapping out the blackberry liqueur for Portland Sangria Dry White with Blueberry-Basil, which brings dry yet fruit forward notes with added effervescence. This is one you'll definitely want to mix up on a warm summer day and enjoy with friends. Cheers!
